How to connect your LWS domain to systeme.io

On this page, you will learn how to add DNS records to LWS to connect your main domain name. This will allow you to add your complete website (www.domain.com) to systeme.io to use it as a custom domain in your sales funnels and blogs, which can be useful for your branding.

What you will need:

  • A systeme.io account
  • A domain name purchased from LWS

Important: Please follow the first step of this article before completing this one.

After adding the root domain in systeme.io, you need to see the DNS settings from your LWS account

Note 1: Each domain added to systeme.io has its own CNAME records to integrate into the hosting site.

Example:

In this example, we will connect the domain www.team-sio.fr with systeme.io

First, hover over your profile picture, click "Settings", then go to "Custom Domains" and add your custom domain.

INSTRUCTIONS :

Click on “Manage” at the domain level to display your domain management settings.

Go to the “Domain management” section, then to “DNS zone” for your domain name.

First CNAME :

  • Select the type "CNAME record".
  • Enter "www" in the "Name" field.
  • Enter "dub1xhrwvqflg.cloudfront.net." in the "Value" field.
  • Finally, click on the “Add” button to validate the CNAME addition.

Note: If a CNAME record with the name "www" already exists, edit its value to "dub1xhrwvqflg.cloudfront.net."

Second CNAME:

  • Select the type "CNAME record"
  • In the "Name" field, copy and paste everything that is before the domain name, which in our example is "_31391c73e65052f6e16887f152bb352b"
  • Enter "_bb9d4596458330462aa3922655924487.xlfgrmvvlj.acm-validations.aws." in the "Value" field.
  • Finally, click on the “Add” button to validate the CNAME addition.

Once the two CNAME records are properly added to your host, you can check their status using the following tool:

You should see the same value you added next to a green checkmark, as displayed in the example below. If not, the records have not been added correctly, and you need to review your DNS zone.

CNAME Verification 01 :

CNAME Verification 02 :

Add a redirect rule:

Redirect yourself to the "Web Redirection" section of your domain name.

  1. Select the type of redirection: Choose the 301 (Htaccess) option for a permanent redirection.
  2. Enter the domain name: For example: team-sio.fr (this field is already filled in the image).
  3. Enter the redirection URL:
  • Select the protocol "https://" from the dropdown menu.
  • Complete the address with the destination URL, in this case: www.team-sio.fr.
  1. Confirm the configuration by clicking the green "To validate" button.

Note 2: It can take up to 2448 hours for DNS records to propagate completely.

Note 3: Sometimes, your host may not be able to register a CNAME record due to a conflict with other existing DNS records. This usually happens when adding the first CNAME.

At that point, you need to contact your host to understand the importance of these existing DNS records and to give you the green light for their deletion.
